Paul Thompson, Co-founder and Commercial Director, Consensus Workspace, 1969 – 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Paul Thompson’s passing.

One of the Co-founders and the Commercial Director of Consensus, Paul was well known throughout the property industry and the northwest region. He was born in Altrincham and went to school at St Ambrose, then studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Manchester before working at EY then moving into the property sector.

An MD of Consensus Property Ltd for many years, Paul founded Consensus Workspace with his long-time friend and business partner Andy Plastow in October 2018, and with fellow director Oliver Plastow, was enjoying the company’s success. He was well-liked and well-respected by clients, suppliers and colleagues across the UK.

He lived as he worked: with enthusiasm, great joy and passion. He was on a ski-ing holiday with his pals when he had a tragic accident from which he did not recover.

Paul is survived by his wife, Karen, a daughter and two sons, along with two grandchildren. He will be hugely missed by everyone at Consensus, and throughout the industry.
