The brief was to reinvent the 12th Floor Flex space in MediaCity’s Blue Tower, creating a social media worthy aesthetic while delivering a conducive, collaborative workspace. The 8,200 sqft project included floor to ceiling windows with iridescent vinyls internally to create a welcoming and uplifting environment that embraces the natural light. The pale pink, mint and terracotta colourways introduced align perfectly with the on-trend furnishings and geometric patterned wallpaper, while the LED lighting doubles as both functioning and art installation, which all combine to fulfil the brief. Our team took design to a new level with this project, creating the required co-working, communal and meeting spaces but elevating them to deliver a collaborative and creative environment. The 12 week project was delivered on time with minimal impact on the occupied offices already in the building.
Consensus Workspace Delivers “Prettiest Office” in MediaCity with Show-Stopping Design and Build for Landsec
Leading design and build specialist Consensus Workspace has completed one of its most striking projects to date, transforming an 8,200 sqft space in Blue Tower at MediaCity into what has been hailed as “MediaCity’s prettiest office.” The eye-catching fit-out was delivered for leading real estate company Landsec, whose brief was to create a social media worthy aesthetic, while still delivering a conducive, collaborative workspace that would appeal to SMEs and Start Ups. Appointed as the principal design and build contractor, Consensus Workspace worked closely with the team at MediaCity to translate a bold, creative vision into a highly functional and aesthetic environment. With a focus on geometric design, natural light, and flexible working zones, the completed space reflects both MediaCity’s drive to stay at the forefront of serviced office design and their commitment to wellbeing and innovation for tenants. “MediaCity came to us with an ambitious brief – they wanted a space that didn’t just look beautiful but inspired tenants in the space,” said Andrew Plastow, Managing Director at Consensus Workspace. “By working collaboratively from concept through to completion, we’ve reinvented an environment that doesn’t just meet expectations – it elevates them.” Key features of the space include: Floor to ceiling windows with an uninterrupted view of Manchester’s Ship Canal and Salford’s green spaces, drenching the space in natural light. Iridescent vinyls on internal office windows, creating an uplifting, welcoming feel in hues of pinks and golds. A palette of pale pink, mint and terracotta, bringing natural harmony indoors. A blend of on-trend furnishings and geometric patterned wallpaper, giving the impression of a “Pinterest-worthy” home. Multi-functional zones designed for creative breakout, collaboration, and concentration. Statement ceiling features and textures that deliver instant visual impact. LED light installations that double as art as well as having functionality. The success of the project lies in Consensus Workspace’s integrated approach, combining architectural design, interior fit-out, project management, and delivery, all under one roof. This streamlined process allowed for agility and responsiveness throughout, ensuring the final space met MediaCity’s evolving needs without compromising quality or creativity. Rebekah Beere, Head of MediaCity’s Flex offering, praised the transformation: “This project is a testament to the exceptional vision of the team at MediaCity and design talent at Consensus Workspace to enable us to bring this vision to life. The result is a vibrant, forward-thinking space that supports hybrid working and wellbeing – it’s everything a modern creative SME or Start Up could ask for.” The new office space is located on the 12th Floor of MediaCity’s Blue Tower, and forms part of their Flex offering which is designed to support scale-ups, SMEs and creative professionals.
