What is office fit-out?

Office fit-out is the process of transforming an empty space into one suitable for the needs of your business. What’s involved will depend on the unique needs of your individual company and could range from completing the basics that make the space functional, to a full redesign and fit-out. How much does an office fit-out cost?

Every project is different so the cost will vary depending on your unique requirements – how big your space is, the quality of the products, fixtures and finishes you choose, and the complexity of the design, etc. And of course, every office fit-out contractor will have their own pricing structure.

How long will the process take?

This will depend on the scope of work required. The build stage of an office fit-out will typically take anywhere from six weeks and upwards depending on the size and complexity of the project. If your workspace requires any structural work, this can extend the time frames, whereas if your company only needs small alterations to your existing workspace, it might only take a matter of days. It’s important to also account for time required pre-construction for design, planning, lead times of products and landlord and building regulations approvals.
Who’s involved in an office fit-out?

During the planning and design phase, you’ll work mainly with our consultants, office designers, project managers and fit-out specialists who will help you plan your perfect space and create a design which meets your expectations, timeframes and budget.

Once we start your office transformation, we’ll manage a team of expert subcontractors who we trust and have established relationships with to help us deliver the works. This could be joiners, electricians, decorators, engineers, tech specialists etc.
What is the difference between Cat A and Cat B fit-out?

Office fit-out companies complete Cat (category) A works mainly on behalf of landlords who want to make their spaces suitable to be leased out. It is the process of getting a space ready for a company to create its own unique workspace in. So, while simple finishes such as raised floors and suspended ceilings, basic lighting and electrical services are installed, the finished result will be a blank canvas.

A Cat B fit out is when we take an empty Cat A space and transform it into a fully functioning workplace, tailored to your unique requirements. Once finished, your space will be ready for you to move straight into and get to work, minimising downtime for you and your team.
